My Green Civic
Well I am carless again. Let me explain yesterday. After claiming the weather people have no clue what they were talking about when they said there was going to be snow. Because the night before it was rain and not cold enough for snow. It did this all night. Well apparently after I feel asleep sometime after 3 it turned into snow and quite a bit of it because the next morning there was snow everywhere. We didn't think I would be able to get my car out and to the store so I could get to work on time. Well I got there and only a few minutes later than normal. So it wasn't that bad. I then ran to the bank to drop off the deposit. While in there an inch of snow had already built up on my car by the time I came back out. The day kinda sucked because danielle showed up right after I got back from the bank and the day kinda sucked after that. And to clear up some misconception I get kinda quiet persay when danielle shows up and it wasn't because of someones family. I promise. She just came out of nowhere. They were there until like 6 or 7 Pm. On the plus side we scored a 85% on our quarterly audit. Making a long story short I went to leave that nite around 10 or 10:30 and it was really bad out. After scrapping off the windows and getting the car started I had a heck of a time getting out of the parking spot. The snow had built up to where it was at my doors level on the drivers side. Well when I got out of the parking lot I went to meijers and got my stepmom cigarettes. After I picked those up I figured I could get home OK since I hadn't had any major problems yet and those little roads in the meijer area were pretty bad. Plus I figured that dixie would definitely be in better shape. I was wrong. As soon as I turned onto dixie, and I mean as soon as I turned, my car got stuck. I was able to break free after a few minutes and started pacing my way down dixie when all the sudden the wind started blowing really hard and the sleet started coming down hard and there was no visibility. I kept on going though because I was afraid I would get stuck again and there was a car coming up behind me. Well I made it to stonestreet just fine and was able to make the turn and get over the tracks. I was following behind a minivan and we both were traveling just fine and I thought I would make it home just fine but I was wrong. As I was getting closer to the entrance to my neighborhood I started to speed up just a little so I could make it across the middle land and have a head start up the hill and hopefully make it up to the top. Well as I was pulling into the middle lane here comes some cars from the opposite direction. So I had to stop or hit them. I think you know what I picked. So that got me stuck in the middle lane with my ass end of the car poking out in the lane I came from. I had to wait for all the cars to pass that were behind me and the cars that were in front of me. Whenever no one would be around I had to rock the car out of place which took a couple minutes. I was able to finally break free and start on my merry way down stonestreet again and I decided I would just park my car over at my aunt Kathy's and just pick it up later. Well when I got to the light at stonestreet and third street I stopped to far out in the road and so when the light did it's change it completely skipped over me. I wasn't aware at first that I was even to far out until I noticed that the traffic light for oncoming traffic was behind me. So I backed up and waited for it again. This time it worked. So I turn on 3rd street and I make my way to the next intersection and I couldn't make it into the turning lane without risking getting stuck again, so I ran a red light since no one was around and kept going so I would be stopped longer than needed. Going down east pages was something else. You were driving on nothing but a pure road of ice and snow. It was very unreal how it looked and I couldn't really explain except to say you had to been there. Well as I was coming up to the entrance to my aunt neighborhood I noticed it was fairly bad in there too but I went ahead and made the turn and got stuck almost immediately. I spun my tires and rocked for a good few minutes before only moving probably ten feet and got my self permanently stuck. I did everything I could think of and the car just wouldn't budge. I gave up after that and called my aunt and she made her way down to me and she was having problems and she was driving a big ass explorer. Of course it was only 2 wheel drive. And rear wheel at that. But she finally made it out of her garage and down to me and picked me up. When she made it to my neighborhood there was noway she could make it up the hill so I had to get out at the entrance walk home. Thank god I don't live far from the entrance at all. I ran home though. I was just so ready to get home. I called and told them to have the door unlocked so I could get in and I just busted through the door. I didn't pay much attention that my sister was standing right there at the door. I bout knocked her over and the dog too. That was yesterday. Today I tried to shovel the driveway but it was futile because there was ice mixed in and it made it a pain in the ass. Plus I don't have gloves so my hands kept freezing up. I had to come in for frequent warm ups. I did on the plus side get the porch steps and the path to the driveway cleared enough for, well a path. I tried to work on making a path to the street but did not get very far. Especially since it was so cold out. I don't know how dad is going to get the escape in the driveway. Oh I also watched anchorman and I thought it was hilarious. That has been about it. Though it looks like I am going to have to walk to work tomorrow morning. That sucks. durbs is still coming in at noon thank god. Now I just hope rose can make it in. Oh and on a side note, Dawna who closed last night never called anyone or showed up today at work. It makes me kinda worry. She is also scheduled for tomorrow so we will see if she shows up then. Well it is getting late and I have been typing on this for most of all day. Just so there is no confusion I started typing this entry on Thursday. Now it is Christmas Eve. So Merry Christmas Eve!!!!
